McGill Most Outstanding, Eight Join Her On All-Tournament Team

GEORGE TOWN, GRAND CAYMAN, CAYMAN ISLANDS – Florida sophomore Liv McGill was selected as the Most Outstanding Player of the 2025 Cayman Islands Classic women’s tournament Saturday night, and eight players joined her on the all-tournament team.
 
The list of honorees joining McGill includes Gal Raviv of Miami, Amari Whiting of Oklahoma State, Gabby Reynolds of George Washington, Zoe Best of Charlotte, Catherine Alben of Georgia Tech, Brooke Moore and Sa’Mya Wyatt of St. John’s, and Daejah Richmond of Memphis.
 
McGill did a little of everything in Florida’s two wins – and a lot of scoring – to claim the Most Outstanding Player honor. Over the two contests, the third-leading scorer in the nation netted 54 points, knocking down 27 points against both Georgia Tech and Memphis.
 
In downing Memphis and Georgia Tech, she shot 18-for-21 at the free throw line for 85.7 percent, averaged 4.5 rebounds and 4.0 assists per game, and added four steals and two blocked shots. 
 
Whiting helped Oklahoma State claim wins over Charlotte and Miami, averaging 18.0 points and 6.0 rebounds per game while shooting 59 percent (13-for-22) from the field. She was 4-for-5 from 3-point range and 6-for-10 at the free throw line, and also made four steals. She had a huge night in the Cowgirls three-point win over Miami with 23 points, six rebounds and eight assists.
 
St. John’s also claimed two wins in the tournament, defeating Georgia Tech and Memphis, and got major contributions from both Moore and Wyatt.
 
Moore shot 70.5 percent (12-of-17) from the field, including 57.1 percent (4-of-7) from long distance. She was 17-for-21 at the free throw line (80.9 percent) and averaged 22.5 points and 7.0 rebounds per game. In addition, she had six assists, four blocked shots and a steal. Moore scored 25 points against Georgia Tech and 20 against Memphis.
 
Wyatt was just a shade behind her teammate, shooting 67.8 percent (19-of-28) from the field and 66.7 percent (4-of-6) at the free throw line while average 21.0 points and 6.5 rebounds per outing. She had two assists and one blocked shot. Her efforts included 22 points against Memphis and 20 against Georgia Tech.
 
In two games, Raviv scored 50 points to lead Miami, shooting 18-for-35 from the field (51.4 percent) with three 3-pointers along with 9-for-12 at the free throw line. She added five rebounds, two assists and a steal. In the win over George Washington, Raviv had a tournament-high 29 points and she followed with 21 points against Oklahoma State. 
 
Charlotte’s Zoe Best led the 49ers with 31 points in her two games in Cayman, netting 18 points in the first game against Oklahoma State and adding 13 against George Washington. Her tournament included 8-for-20 shooting (40 percent) from long range and she added seven rebounds, three assists and one steal.  
 
Gabby Reynolds pumped in 45 points in two games for George Washington, including an eye-popping 27 on the opening day against Miami. She had 18 against Charlotte to lead her team to victory. She shot at a 54.8 percent clip (18-for-31) from the field, including 7-for-10 from long range. Her stat line for the two days also included four rebounds, eight assists and five steals.
 
Richmond logged 62 minutes of playing time for Memphis and averaged 15.5 points per game while shooting 10-for-24 (41.6 percent) from the field and 10-of-15 at the free throw line. She posted four rebounds, four assists, six steals and two blocked shots.
 
Georgia Tech’s selection on the all-tournament team was Alben, the top scorer for the Yellow Jackets who lost by just two against St. John’s and nine to Florida. Alben averaged 14 points per game and added eight rebounds, three assists, two steals and one blocked shot. She hit 40 percent (2-of-5) from long range and 66.7 percent (4-of-6) at the free throw line. Her top game was 18 points in the narrow loss to the Red Storm.
